DOMAINE D’EXPERTISE ET RECHERCHE :
Bruno SENGHOR est un chercheur en parasitologie et malacologie dont le domaine d’expertise est les schistosomiases humaines et animales.
Ses axes de recherches sont l’épidémiologie et la parasitologie de terrain, la malacologie, l’écologie et la lutte anti-mollusque, la taxonomie, la caractérisation morphologique et moléculaire des parasites (trématodes) et des hôtes intermédiaires (escargots).
Bruno Senghor a également de l’expérience sur la culture et l’isolement des bactéries halophiles du tube digestif humain par MALDI-TOF MS.
Depuis 2020, Bruno travaille en collaboration avec  l’IHPE dans le cadre d’un projet (TMA2018CDF-2370) financé par le programme EDCTP2 soutenu par l’Union européenne pour développer de nouvel axe de recherches portant sur la capacité invasive des hybrides entre Schistosoma haematobium et Schistosoma bovis sous la pression du praziquantel au sein et en dehors des pays endémiques, mais également la recherche de marqueurs de tolérance au Praziquantel avec des approches génomiques.
