DOMAINE D’EXPERTISE-RECHERCHE :
Depuis mes premières expériences dans des laboratoires de recherche, je m’intéresse aux bactéries et aux interactions qu’elles entretiennent avec leurs hôtes et leur environnement. Pendant ma thèse au sein de l’UMR 6539 (LEMAR, 2005-2008), j’ai pu décrire une maladie affectant les ormeaux en Bretagne et en particulier les mécanismes par lesquels la bactérie Vibrio harveyi l’induit. A la suite de cette expérience, j’ai rejoint un UMR 7245 (Molécules de Communication et Adaptation des Micro-organismes, 2009-2011) pour tenter d’identifier les molécules grâce auxquelles des bactéries de la flore intestinale pouvaient contrôler un protozoaire parasite responsable de la parasitose intestinale la plus répandue dans le monde, Giardia lamblia. J’ai rejoint l’IFREMER en 2011, tout d’abord au sein du laboratoire de génétique et pathologie des mollusques marins (LGPMM, La Tremblade). Travaillant dans un laboratoire ayant le mandat de laboratoire européen et national de références pour les pathologies des mollusques, mes projets de recherche visaient principalement à identifier, décrire des espèces ou groupes d’agents infectieux à risque (bactéries du genre Vibrio) et les maladies qu’ils induisent. Depuis 2019, j’ai intégré l’équipe MIMM, au sein de laquelle je conduis des recherches sur les interactions entre la virulence bactérienne et la réponse immunitaire des hôtes grâce à deux modèles d’interaction : Vibrio aestuarianus / Crassostrea gigas et Vibrio splendidus / Mytilus sp.
